Minnesota Official Measurers was established in December of 1996. It got official registration with the Secretary of State as a non-profit entity of 8/25/97.

The club was formed for the purpose of forming a big game measuring body whose primary interest is for the training and certification of all it's members and scoring of Minnesota's big game animals.

Minnesota Official Measurers uphold the Rules of Fair Chase as established by the Boone and Crockett along with Pope and Young clubs.

We uphold all laws pertaining to taking of all game, big and small, as designated by the respected divisions of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

We have fostered a brotherhood between MOM measurers to enhance credibility and accuracy in measuring big game animals, specifically those indigenous to Minnesota.

Any person who supports the purpose and bylaws of the Club can become a member.

Any person who completes the certification process can become a Minnesota Official Measurers.

MOM offers measuring classes as needed. The cost is $55.00 per person. This includes:
             * Measuring Manual
             * Measuring Tape
             * Measuring Cable
             * 1 year M.O.M. Membership

Minnesota Official Measurers  currently has over 90 active members throughout the State. The current membership has certified measurers for nearly every record's keeping system in North America. What ever your North American trophy, Minnesota Official Measurers can measurer and enter your trophy in most any record book. This club is also the official measuring body for the Minnesota Deer Classic, and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. The Minnesota Deer Classic has produced a number of record books over the years and the MDHA is slated to have their first edition available in 2006, with future publications approximately every third year.

Each member donates his or her time and expense to attend any deer show or measure any trophies. As a non-profit organization, it is against Club Rules for an individual to accept payment for measuring services. However, donations to the club are accepted and used to offset the costs of motel rooms when needed.

Minnesota Official Measurers on average,  measure at six deer show each year.

The Club has four scheduled meetings each year of which all members and the public are welcome to attend.

Events that we do each year:
                * Target practice for guns, bows and muzzle loaders.
                * Summer meetings and family cookouts with overnight stay.
                * Get together at all Shows including the Minnesota Deer Classic.
                * Minnesota Official Measurers Winter Fishing Contest.

Minnesota Official Measurers is also seeking deer, elk, and moose antlers along with bear skulls to be used in our measurers training classes. As with all donations, a reciept will be given for the full retail value of your donation.
Any monetary donations to the club will be given a tax-deductable recipt and would be greatly appreciated.
